Michael Stocker, Founder & CEO

Michael is Founder & CEO at Snowvation. He realized the inefficiencies in the ski industry’s technology after spending several years as a certified ski instructor in Pennsylvania. Seeking to bring the industry into the year 2016 and beyond, he Co-Founded Snowvation in mid 2015. Michael’s focus is on helping the ski industry better engage with the rapidly changing consumer, particularly the Millennial generation, by leveraging innovative new technologies. Michael believes that increasing Millennial participation in skiing and snowboarding is critical to the longevity and sustainability of the sport.

Prior to founding Snowvation in 2015, Michael studied Economics at The George Washington University. He has held positions in finance with Stifel Nicolaus and spent 3 years working on Capitol Hill in operational and government relations roles. Michael’s favorite place to ski is Vail, Colorado.







Alex leads Snowvation's growth and expansion efforts.  He has over 10 years experience partnering with companies ranging from early-stage startups to several of the world’s largest global organizations.

Mostly recently, Alex was a Senior Consultant at Deloitte where he executed projects related to strategy development, financial forecasting and budgeting, operating model design, process improvement, and organizational change.  Prior to joining Deloitte, Alex completed a global commercial rotational program at BP. 









Mike brings nearly 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur both an established senior executive at Fortune 500 companies.  He has a rich, diverse background, ranging from building seed stage startups, to managing a national advertising campaign, to being a trusted advisor for the world’s largest financial institutions.

Mike was Co-Founder and President of Coeio, a revolutionary startup that is disrupting the $20B funeral industry.  Their Infinity Burial Products offer a green, ecological and economical alternative to traditional burial and cremation.  He leads sales and marketing, fundraising, finance legal and business operations.

Mike also has extensive startup experience.  Mike was Chief Growth Officer at Betterment, the largest online investment management firm.  In addition Mike was Chief Business Officer at kasina (acquired by DST Systems) where led all sales and marketing for the investment management industry’s leading consulting firm.  Mike spent the early part of his career Trilogy Software and iPhrase Technologies (acquired by IBM).

In addition, Mike is also a seasoned financial services veteran. Prior to Coeio, Mike was Senior Vice President and Digital Strategy and Innovation Executive for Bank of America’s Consumer Bank.  There, he led the development and prototyping for Bank of America’s next-generation applications for over 20M customers.  Mike was also Head of Retail Advertising at Vanguard., the worlds largest mutual fund company.  Recognized by Advertising Age as an A-List Marketer, he led development of the $60M “Vanguarding” campaign, the first national campaign in the country’s history.

Mike holds a AB in Philosophy from Harvard College. He also holds a Level III Certification from the American Association of Snowboard Instructors and is an active instructor and staff trainer at Mount Snow, VT.




Brian is an architect, entrepreneur, and engineering lead with over 15 years of real world experience in building web, mobile, enterprise, and internal operations team software. His expertise lies in the areas of: Building scalable web applications; Translating end user needs into products and; Day to day management of the Software Release Cycle.

Brian is CTO at HourlyNerd.  Before HourlyNerd, he was a Co-Founder and CTO at OpenMile, Inc (acquired by Echo Global Logistics), a truckload marketplace trying to remove the inefficiencies and reduce the cost of shipping products, while making the lives of drivers better. Prior to Open Mile, he was Engineering Manager at (acquired by AOL), a user-generated site about local events and happenings in cities across the US., he led the Engineering/QA organization from the Series A funding through acquisition.  Prior to, Brian was Lead Engineer at Enservio, an online content valuation company providing software/services to insurance carriers.  At Enservio, he owned the complete rewrite of the product from the ground up.  Prior to Enservio, Brian was Application Architect at iPhrase Technologies (acquired by IBM), an enterprise natural language search company providing software to companies including Charles Schwab, TD Bank, and Staples.  At iPhrase, he served as the bridge between customers and the engineering organization.




Ross Forsyth is a software engineer with a passion for new technology and creating applications. Prior to joining Snowvation, he co-founded Viitori, an oil/gas mobile app startup. He has worked as a petroleum engineer in most aspects of the oil/gas industry ranging from field engineering to corporate reserves. He is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma and enjoys snowboarding and traveling.  






Jeremy Bloom, Advisor

Jeremy Bloom is the only dual-sport athlete to ski in the Olympics and be drafted into the NFL. He is a three-time World Champion, two-time Olympian, eleven-time World Cup gold medalist and a member of the United States Skiing Hall of Fame. He won a record six straight World Cup events, the most in a single season in the sport's history. He’s also an All-American football player at the University of Colorado and played in the NFL for the Eagles and Steelers.

In 2008, Bloom founded Wish of a Lifetime, which grants lifelong wishes to seniors. The non-profit has granted over 1000 wishes in 46 states.

In 2010, Bloom co-founded the marketing software company Integrate. The company has raised capital from Comcast, Foundry Group and Liberty Global. Integrate was named as the "Best New Company" at the American Business Awards. Forbes Magazine called Bloom one of the 30 most influential people in technology under 30 and in 2013 Bloom was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

He is also a College Football and Olympic Sports Television Analyst and has worked for ESPN, Fox, NBC and The Pac-12 Network



Taylor Shiffrin, Director of Communications

Taylor comes from a strong background in skiing and ski racing. Taylor started skiing before he could walk in Vail, Colorado, and has since excelled to become a world-class skier competing on a top level. Taylor is also the older brother of US Olympic Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin.

He Co-Founded Inovize, a startup which produced the first transparent web browser. He holds a degree in Finance & Mechanical Engineering from University of Denver, where he is a 4 year member of the varsity alpine ski team. Taylor’s favorite place to ski is Vail, Colorado.





Matthew Kantner, Digital Marketing Manager

Matthew is a proven leader with a passion for digital marketing, ecommerce, and powder. After spending countless days on the mountain, both skiing and snowboarding, Matt has decided to direct his skill set towards the snowsport industry.

With exposure to many different aspects of digital marketing, Matthew brings a creative and diligent mindset to help reach Snowvation’s goals. From terrain parks to corduroy, you can catch Matthew smiling from ear to ear. Matthew’s favorite place to ski is Alta, Utah.
